If you thought TGV or Maglev were the fastest train, wait until you see Hyperloop transportation system.
Hyperloop is a project that a young entrepreneur named Elon Musk wants to put in place in the U.S. He said "it would be a better option compared to high-speed train" based on the cost and speed or efficiency.
According to CNN Hyperloop is a giant vacuum tube-like with an air bearing system that could reach up to a speed of 700mph. This new transportation system could make it from New York to California in under 50 minutes.
If the project was to be implemented, it would start in state of California where there were talks of high-speed trains by the state. However, Musk is arguing that high speed trains project would cost $10 billions with a high speed of 200mph. This is to be considered because the Hyperloop project would only cost $6 billions for passengers transportation only. But they could also implement passengers and cars transportation for a total of $7.5 billions.
For now Hyperloop feasibility is fully considerable. The United States being a country where everything is done big and better, it would not be a surprise if this Hyperloop is your new means of transportation next year.
